I have enjoyed watching your Youtube Videos for years and appreciate all the information you have shared. I know your not a fan of Nissan vehicles, but I still wanted to get your thoughts on the 2025 Nissan Rogue that now come with 3 cylinder engines and whether or not its worth the long term ownership costs, compared to previous generations that were not as well made. Thank you!
Uncle Tony has a few syllables to say about Nissan's variable-compression engines. (Nissan has had to recall over 400,000 of the stupid things).
@chucktobias just how ridiculous can an engineer's new design can be? I'm sitting here shaking my head as I wonder how in the world anyone thought variable compression was a sound concept.
That's crazy. I had no idea Nissan was making multi-link connecting rods! But if I stop and think about it a bit .... of course it's Nissan.
@imperator It's total insanity. I don't know what those Nissan engineers were smoking but I want no part of it!
I watch Engineering Explained sometimes on YouTube, the guy did a special on this. It's definitely interesting engineering, but I will never buy that thing, forgetting it's Nissan. Engineers are being forced to comply with former lawyer turned lawmaker-dictated emissions, not actual physics-based emissions.
