Very cool cars and fun to drive, but the costs to maintain one here in the states are prohibitive. They also pull a premium if you can manage to find a clean one that isn't modified and cut up or beat to death.
They were sick cars and still are today, but nice ones, especially stock are super expensive and a lot of them were never sold in North America. You would have to import them (Canada has a 15-year import law so yes you can import the legendary R34 and USA has a 25-year import law so you can import at best an R33 or R32) which adds an extra level of expense.
Personally, I get why there's cool - but that's a 20-30 year old Nissan, and it costs a fortune to keep running.
For the prices they go for? there are much safer, more reliable cars that are also great to drive.
Also, WhistlinDiesel has got two of those - his video kind of shows you what those 30 year old Nissans are like to own... Compared to that Audi R8 he has and that hasn't been causing him any issues - those don't seem like good cars at all.

I think his engines blew because he used it as you'd use a nice Audi or an Infiniti - and not as you'd use a 30 year old Nissan.
So yeah: great toys, bad cars.
Sick looking cars but I personally like changing gear so wouldn't buy one. If it was given to me though, I'd say 'OK'.
