My son has a 2006 Mazda Tribute. About 128k miles on it. Ran great for a couple weeks then, wouldn’t start. Had it at mechanic, Firestone and Mazda dealer gone through 3 batteries, 2 alternators and a starter all in 2 months time. Sometimes will crank sometimes won’t. Sometimes it will jump off, sometimes won’t. Any idea where to look?

If you've replaced 3 batteries, 2 alternators and a starter in 2 months then find another mechanic. Don't use or go back to Firestone or the Mazda dealer. I can see the possibility of you getting a bad battery, a bad alternator or a bad starter... find a good mechanic. The people working on your son's car so far are just replacing parts.
Thanks. We have take. It different places hoping to get an answer of why it is suddenly shorting everything. It was mentioned that it may be electrical issue which we only have 2 places in our area that specialize in electrical issues. (Not cheap to diagnose) we were told. We have invested so much already idk how much further to keep going. 🙄
electrical issues. (Not cheap to diagnose)
no, but sometimes it is better (and cheaper) to diagnose the problem properly and just get the job done right the first time, than the hassle of running around for weeks and swapping random parts. Part swappers are the worst kind of mechanics. They don't know what they're doing.
Have you tried swapping the starter fuses/relays? Inspecting the wiring for faults?
