Why are some people attracted to red flags?

I have a family member that i always gave car advice to and she never listens. First time she did she asked me if a Chrysler 200 was a good car and I told her that was byfar one of the worst cars on the road and to buy any Toyota or Honda. Few days later I see a white 200 in her driveway. Luckily the car was totalled in a flood. And now recently she asked me if a gmc Acadia was a good car and yet again I told her no and to buy ANY TOYOTA OR HONDA! What do I see on Facebook? Her standing in front of a silver GMC Acadia. Thought I might share on why I no longer give her car advice

Well, sometimes you just gotta scratch your head. I know a guy that has a several years old Chevy (sedan, forget which model) with 200000 miles. He hasn't had a lick of trouble. I steered my daughter into buying a 2012 Camry and her transmission is shot at 137000.

I heard the EXACT same thing from this youtube mechanic "Car Wizard." His customers ask what car they should buy. He ALWAYS says Toyota Highlander or Toyota Camry or something. 3 weeks later the same customer "The engine is burning oil in my new GMC Acadia." Wow. I hope that she has that car for a long time so it will fall apart and buy any better car next time.

There are also some people who think any car is reliable because you take care of it. There are videos on youtube that know about the reputation of Toyota and Honda but still would rather take any Chrysler product if it has been maintained better.

Guess what? Buy a Toyota that has been taken care of. As simple as that.

Good luck and I am glad you have that knowledge of car reputation. Would love you to update us on the reliability of that vehicle and when the engine blows up!

Then again, as bad as the Acadia is, it is better than the 200, so I guess it is technically an upgrade. However, I completely understand why you are frustrated with her.

Maybe she should start watching Scotty’s channel.  Maybe she might listen to old Scotty.  🙂
