O2 SENSOR - rich fuel mixture

Can a bad oxygen sensor cause a rich fuel mixture? Recently had my catalytic converter stolen from my 2002 honda crv which is a big problem in London. I bought non OEM parts including oxygen sensor which is now malfunctioning but has a 5 year warranty. I smell gas in the oil and white smoke with hard acceleration. Are these symptoms?

Is it worth changing the oil or will the gas evaporate after sensor is replaced?

It can but still can a million other things but if you do figure out what's wrong yeah change the oil filter when you're done.
