2008 Ford Escape V6 XLT 4x4 180k . Soft brake pedal occasionally after doing break job. About a week ago I started this brake job and am now at my wits end of what is causing my problem. The brakes work great 98% of the time and then all of a sudden the pedal will go lower (about half way down,but still stops) but pump right back up and may be fine for another 10 stops. So far I have replaced the M.C. both front rotors,pads and hoses. In the rear I have replaced the shoes,drums and hoses on both sides. I did replace the wheel cylinder on right rear being the bleeder valve snapped off when trying to bleed.Left rear WC seems fine with no leaks and operates as it should. I have bleed the system at least 3 times and am careful (wife pumps and holds pedal down while I bleed) not to introduce air into system.There are absolutely no leaks anywhere (I have checked daily) I have adjusted shoes to the drum. There are no ABS,Check engine,or brake light illuminated on dash.

What sequence did you use to bleed the system? You're supposed to do right rear, left rear, right front, left front. If you didn't do it in that order, you messed up.
