hi scotty what i about to ask is about an engine oil, i have a honda mobillio its a minivan for asian market (and i live in asia btw)
so what im about to ask is whenever im about to service my car and change the oil as well, of course they gonna offer me the honda oil engine right. im curious if i change my oil brand like castrol or shell whatver, but im afraid for the reliability for my engine car and the mpg.. is it going to affect my car? should i experiment buying another oil brand? what are the plus and minus changing the brand for your car oil brand?
You can use any brand you want. Honda doesn't even make their own oil. Another company makes it and Honda sells it under their brand.
Just use the same rated oil and you will be just fine.
You can use any engine oil you wish (from any reputed brand), as long as it’s the exact same oil specification that’s mentioned in the owner’s manual for your vehicle.
