Hey Scotty, hope you are well. I drive a 2021 Subaru Forester with 4300 miles. I got the car in April 2021, and since April is right around the corner I was wondering if I should change the oil when the 1 year mark hits. Or should I wait until I reach 5000 and then change it? Thank you.

whichever comes first, but no reason to wait if you can do it now.

It's best to change the oil at least once a year even if you don't reach 5000 miles in that time.

Do it now. Remember, once a year or every 5,000 miles whichever comes first, and your one year is almost up.
