Hello. I have had a new 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid for about 6 months with 5000 miles now. The car is saying it needs maintenance. I believe it’s just tire rotations and inspection for free for first 2 years or 20k miles. However, the oil change is scheduled and included for every 10k miles. I believe 0w-16. I am always told that you should do an oil change every 5k miles. Is it worth it to ask to pay for them to do it or go somewhere else for it? Or should I just stick to Toyota recommended interval and wait till 10k miles? Also any other recommendations of intervals for other stuff would be appreciated.
This kind of question has been asked here very frequently and is therefore covered in the FAQ. (The short answer is change oil and filter at no more than 5000 mile intervals no matter what the manufacturer recommends.)
Your first break in oil change should have been around 1,000 miles
