Hi Scotty,
I've recently learned that my dealer I brought my 2017 Prius from is charging $99.99 for a full synthetic oil change. OUTRAGEOUS!!! I have a few questions; I drive less than 6k per year. This past year it was much less because of shutdowns. My first question is; If I do the oil change myself, would it void my warranty? Do I have to use Toyota branded oil & filter? Toyota states to change oil every 6000 miles, or after one year, whichever comes first. I drove my car less than 2000 miles this past year. Does it really need an oil change with so little miles being put on the car?
Thanks for your indulgence,
Stay safe,

Yes, it is usually 5,000 miles or one year whichever comes first. I would recommend you do it yourself and as long as you do it correctly it won't void your warranty. As for the oil, any brand will work just make sure it is the correct weight.
1 year/5k miles, whichever comes first.
And $100 for a full synthetic oil change is pretty standard pricing. Times have changed. If you do it yourself, you can save money.
