Hello,
I got a 2011 VW Jetta with 110k miles and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The other day I was changing my car's oil and I needed to get the oil filter out. But I cannot for the life of me seem to get it out. I tried using tools, asking my dad to help, everything short of taking it to a mechanic or dealership. What do i do?
Put a screwdriver into the filter and rotate the filter.
How would I do that? There isn't an obvious place for that.
Make a hole, use hammer and screw driver to pass it through the filter. You want to change the filter not to keep it.
Oh I see. But I'm unsure if that would work because neither me or my dad could make the filter budge and we could end up damaging the screwdriver and the oil filter without successfully gettong the oil filter out.
You won't damage a screwdriver. The filter is made of thin sheet metal
