Oil filter stuck on Lexus

I was recently changing the oil on my 2007 Lexus is350 and I could not get the oil filter off. I have the Toyota wrench cap and used a breaker bar but it still wouldn’t budge. I even had a friend who works on cars come by and try and open it up but it still would not move. Any suggestions for what I should do? I don’t even know how they got it on so tight in the first place. A simple oil changed how now turned into a multiple hour situation lol

They sell a special tool for those cartridge filter housings. Are you using the correct tool? Use a breaker bar with the right tool and it should come free. Spray some brake cleaner around it to help it break free.

ok the cap has those fins that stick out to the side. Use a brass drift or a chunk of wood or something and tap it with a hammer.

Put a torch to it and use the heat sparingly.  That should loosen it up.
