Hi Scotty - Love your videos.
Have you ever done a video about the anti drain back valve in some oil filters? (I can't find one).
I am in Australia and have a 1994 Holden Commodore which I only use on Variety charity fund-raising "Bashes" in the Australian outback on a lot of dusty roads. It uses the original (standard) Buick Ecotec 3.8 litre V6.
The oil filter is mounted horizontally which doesn't seem logical if the filter doesn't have the drain-back valve.
Do I:
A) make sure I get one that does, (and what would you recommend), OR
B) don't worry about the cold start rattle, OR
C) get a remote oil filter system and mount it vertically?
Thanks in advance, and keep up the awesome work!
I don't think it matters that much for a 3.8L engine, and often there are valves already built into the engine anyway
😀
That cold start rattle may be a stretched timing chain.
