I see Renken oil filters offered on Amazon in 12 pc case lots for a fraction of the price of other brands. They are made in China and from what few videos/reviews I have seen they appear good, but no one has actually tested them for their filtering properties. What is your opionion?
Oil filter isn't that expensive in the first place so don't try to cut corners by buying something too cheap to be good. You can get OEM filters when dealerships put them on sale for if you buy 3 or more for example. Or other reputable brands go on sale too. Don't risk your whole engine over spending a bit less on oil filter.
No thanks. I'll get my filters here.
Stick to the reputable brands: do a search on our forum to see which ones. I would pass on those filters, especially made in China.
As others have said, no thanks. Your oil filter is a terrible place to cheap out.
