Hi Scotty, I’m going to be brave and change my own oil. The last time I had an oil change at the dealership they gave me a warning that I would need a flush next time as the engine was producing sludge! That shocked me as oil on the dip stick always looked clean as a whistle to me and the the oil has always been on the full mark. I only have have 80,000 kilometres however a lot of my driving is short distances and living on the West wet Coast of Canada doesn’t help.  I am disappointed that the dealer says it has sludge and needs a flush???  I did look down the oil fill cap and yes I see what I believe is sludge but it didn’t look horrible.
Question Is Mobile the company that Toyota uses for their oil and filters? I see in  Canadian Tire Flyer that Mobile Synthetic Oil is on sale right now. Trying to save a buck, and should I raise the front of the car so I can get as much of this clumpy sludge out?

 Thanks.

Scotty doesn’t advise flushing your engine. Change your oil more often every 5,000 miles, full synthetic with a good premium filter. For now change it and then do it again in 2500 miles, that should solve your issue. Driving at highway speeds for longer distances will help the engine as well.
