Have a 2002 Chevrolet impala Ls automatic with 165,676 miles . The oil pressure sending unit has been going bad for a while and I have replaced it five or more times , while driving the car the oil pressure switch will go bad and the oil will come out of the engine through the middle of the unit Two auto shops could not find what was wrong, they did a oil pressure test and it was normal. I have unplugged it and connected oil pressure Manual gauge with a plastic tube line. What would be the problem and how to fix it?
Did you buy them from the same place? It could be just a bad batch of sensors and you're getting one bad one after another.. Find another supplier or brand and get it with a limited lifetime warranty.
Yes, different suppliers and I even returned a few under warranty.
Are they the same brand? Are you sure the sensor is leaking from the sensor and not from where it's threaded into the block? It might be cross threaded.
Thanks!
It seems the diaphragm on the sensor burst in the center, the oil is coming through the center of the sending unit.
Most all the oil comes out of the engine has the engine is on ,before I can stop the car. Since I unplugged the wiring harness it has not went out
