What is the best (and cheapest) method to clean up oil sludge in an engine? I heard that sometimes you want to keep some of the “sludge” because it seals things that may have come lose over the years.
this is not an answer, because I'm not sure:
I personally, I used an additive ("Engine shampoo") and filled and drained my oil about 2 times.
I know people recommend against this but it worked out quite well for me.

Use k and w engine flush or any engine flush you can buy at the auto parts stores it comes with directions you don't want a build up of sludge
