Hi everyone

Two days ago i did an oil change on my car and after i finished everything, i forgot the bottle of oil in the car for like a day ( a bit more than half a quart).

Considering that was very hot during the day , is it safe to use that oil from that bottle for my next oil change?

i forgot to mention that during the day was very hot outside like 96 F and in the car was even more hot

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can use it.

The oil in your engine when running will have an approximate temperature between 200 - 250 degrees F.

That's totally fine.

Oil temperatures in the engine get hotter than that, so you are fine.

The bottle of oil left in your car is good. After all, if was inside the motor it would be exposed to temperatures twice that and more.

I keep an extra bottle of oil with me in my car at all the time. To top off. You will be fine.
