hi, i'm thinking to sell my 2.4L 2010 kia forte koup and put another 2k dollars to buy 2007 is250, my car has 114k miles and runs fine, and the lexus has 180k miles and in good condition.

is it a bad idea?

Pass on the IS250.  Do a search on our forum here (it’s been asked many times) and you will see reasons not to buy.

i'm aware of the carbon building up, but beside this problem is there any ?
btw the is350 is so expensive in my place.

There are a lot of unknowns to be able to provide an accurate recommendation.
You state that your Kia runs fine. Did you purchase your Kia new? Has it been maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule? Does it have problems which are prompting you to consider the Lexus?

Typically the Lexus is of higher quality than Kia, as Doc commented.Yet as DayWalker advised, he has knowledge of complaints about this Lexus model year on this forum.

The is250 is very high mileage and 15 years old. Have you had it checked by a knowledgeable mechanic. Do you have information regarding its repair and maintenance history?
If not, it may be best to keep your Kia and save the two thousand dollars until you find a lower mileage car that is more reliable and less expensive to maintain and repair.

i bought it has 100k, and had mechanic to see its conditions before buying it.
i want the lexus because of its reliability and it has RWD .
i don't have the maintenance history, but i know some knowledgeable mechanic who can check on it.
