Hi Scotty. I have a 2016 Dodge caravan v6 auto. Manufacturer says semisynthetic or synthetic. Some oil change places insist its synthetic only. What do you recommend? And how many miles between changes? Car has approximately 60k miles on it. TY

I'd use synthetic and change it out every 5k miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Stick to what your manufacture says. Change oil every 5k miles.

The key is to use oil that meets the oil specs outlined in the owners manual.  That being said, I would use synthetic and change the oil religiously every 5,000 miles.  Engine oil is cheaper than a new engine.

When they insist it means that's all they got. Not necessarily a bad thing. When Manufacturer says semisynthetic or synthetic, this means either could be used in place of the other. Could also be dependent a little on temperature and viscosity. (Reasearch could be done for your specific car) As the car ages I would probably change to thicker oil given that it's a doge lol
