Old GM B-Body Parts Interchangeability

Topic starter

How interchangeable are body panels and general pieces between late 70s- early 80s GM B-Body sedans? I need to replace the trunk lock cylinder in my 1979 Pontiac Catalina, and I may need to eventually replace my driver's door, as rust is starting to come through a bottom corner. I know the Catalina was a dying model in its last iteration, 1977 to 1981, so it may be tough to find many other usable Catalinas to pick from. I know the Oldsmobile Delta 88, Pontiac Bonneville/ Catalina, Chevrolet Caprice, Impala, and Malibu were all B-Body cars at that time, so I figured those might broaden my options.

Junkyards should have the Hollander interchange manual to look this up for you.

Look up on the net, junkyards out west, like Nevada, Arizona, ETC. Where salt isn't an issue.
