I am currently looking at buying a used 2013 Honda Civic EX and want some more info on the reliability of their I4 engines.

That car literally can last forever. The combination of Honda engine with manual transmission is one of the best. Ask a mechanic to check the car for you and if you he gives ok, go right ahead.

That is what I had heard, thanks for the feedback!

My 1999 Honda Accord with an I4 is going on 270K+ miles. IMHO, they have the best I4’s on the market overall. As long as it is NA. And I believe the I4 in the civic is a timing chain, all the better!

Yes I was debating going for an older model as I thought that the Earth Dream Technology wasn't the best on the newer models. However, this 2013 model does not have that feature as that is only on the 1.5L Turbo engines. Thanks for the feedback!

The most dependable model years of the Civic are 2011, 2013-2015. The 2013 had either a 5 speed auto or 5 speed manual. Both were good but the manual is bulletproof. The engine can literally last forever. I would snatch it up assuming good mechanical condition.
