I've a 2017 Sierra 1500, 5.3, 6 spd auto, 71k mi.
I've noted and watched the Scotty videos on the problems with the AFM engines and the class action lawsuit about them. I've seen a video where he said that they could be "deleted" but can't find it right now. Has he discussed "disabling" it through the OBDII connector? This item claims to do just that. The article where I learned about it also discusses the cons. This is a link to the article: https://chevytrucks.org/delete-or-disable-active-fuel-management/
I am not an associate of amazon nor am I affiliated with the individual or organization that wrote the article. Just trying to head off expensive repairs.
Scotty has said it is a very bad idea to leave any 3rd-party device permanently connected to the OBD2 diagnostic port. You really don't know what the long term effects will be on your vehicle's electrical system.
Ughh. I searched on youtube for the scotty video and searched on here, but I used the wrong terms. Searching AGAIN I found many posts on this subject. My apologies.
