Should the battery & brake light blink when a vehicle is overheating?
I had the A/C on and was waiting in a big line of traffic when I noticed that the coolant temperature gauge was rising. The funny thing is that the Battery and Brake light also turned on. Immediately, I turn on the heater to prevent damage as it would act as a 2nd radiator until I got home.
A few months ago I had the Alternator, Serpentine Belt, & Heater Core replaced. Something tells me its the Water Pump or A/C Compressor that will need replacement. I did an OBDII scan and there are no coolant related codes.
A mechanic will do a Coolant Pressure Test on Wednesday, but I don't see any coolant lost and the oil looks good.
I would check the cooling fans first since in the traffic you had the overheating issue. You may also check the temperature of different spots of the radiator to make sure it is working fine.
