Hi Scotty, I have a 2007 Ford mustang V6 4.0 and when I turn on my defrost my car overheat almost immediately what are the symptoms? What's the diagnosis? And is there a prognosis here, lol.
This All started when I ordered a PVC valve and was provided the wrong one apparently it was stuck open or didn't work at all and it blew my valve cover gasket. $1,500 later I'm back on the road but when I went to turn on the defrost this happened. I could use your help on what steps I need to take cuz I'm driving around now in dead of winter no heater. {blackemo}:bruise:
Well when you turn the defrost on that also turns on the AC compressor. But if you say it immediately overheats I wonder if it really is overheating. It could be an electrical failure and it's giving you a false reading on the temperature gauge. Now in the summer if you put defrost on and it overheats yeah it can be that the radiator can't dissipate heat fast enough from the extra heat. The AC condenser puts out but it's cold now unless you live in a weird place where it's warm now, in which case it could be a bad radiator
