Hey Scotty I own a 2018 Audi A5 (manual transmission, 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, around 18,500 miles). I bought the car used before I saw your videos. Now, having seen all of the ones you have made about Audis and Volkswagen, I am worried about the reliability and expected future depreciation of the car. I would trade it for a Ford Mustang (without the crap manual transmission from China) or a manual Honda Civic (or a Mazda Miata/Toyota 86) if I could find a reasonable price, but everything with this chip shortage is just crazy. So how bad would it be if I just kept the car for another 1-3 years and then sold it to a private party? I don't drive all that much (around 6000 miles a year) and I keep it in a garage. I also live in the Pacific Northwest, which does not have much snow/salt. Should I expect any significant mechanical failures in that time? How long could I keep the car and not lose a fortune selling it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
With such low usage, it may be relatively trouble free for the next 5 years.
If there’s nothing wrong with it, keep it & pray doesn’t expensive breaks before you sell it.
Maybe buy an extended warranty for it?
