P1009 code ‘04 accord

My ‘04 accord was running fine (trans is going so it hard shifts at 2.5-3k rpm) but the other day the check engine light came on and it was really struggling to get past 1.5k rpm.  I took it to advance and it had a p1009 code for advanced vtec issue. I checked the oil and it was damn near empty so I filled it and drove it home. It got better for about 3-5 mins and then started doing the same thing again when I got home I checked it out and there was a lot of oil on the ground and around the vtec solenoid. Would that just be a bad vtec solenoid gasket or should I look for something bigger?

Well pray it's just a bad sensor. Get a new sensor and new gasket and see if that fixes it. Because if it is leaking it won't work right? Cuz it works by oil pressure
