First of all i want to let you know that i appreciate you guys so much for the work you do!
So, i was thinking about cleaning the valves manually and then routing the pcv hose into an oil catch can(and emptying out once in a while) and delete the hose that goes in the intake and plug the intake hole with something. Will it stop the carbon deposits on the valves? and will there be any negative consequences aside not passing emissions?
Thank you!
Put the catch can between the pcv valve and the intake manifold and keep the connections. It would remove some sludge and still be legal with the original system connected.
Well it would stop deposits that's for sure. But the real problem is that's venting pressure and the pressure would have to go somewhere back in the olden days. That pressure was just blown into the atmosphere which pollutes and is illegal today
will there be any negative consequences
yes
