I just purchased OEM PCV valve from Honda dealer for 2012 Accord and when testing this valve, I noticed that I'm able to blow air through the valve from both ends. One way it blows easy and the other way much harder but still air goes through a little. I was under impression that on PCV valves you can only blow air one way. Is this normal? On my old PCV valve I can only blow air one way so I left it in for now.
Also, when I did a balloon test, the air does not deflate if I don't touch the valve, however, if I slightly tap the other end (engine side end) with my finger, balloon starts deflating slowly. Can this OEM valve be defective or is there a better way to test the valve before installing it? Don't want to install a defective valve.
