Hello, I have a Toyota Rav4 2007 V6, a few years back all of a sudden it started blowing a lot of smoke, the mechanic said the engine had to be rebuild, so we did, O rings, bearings, gaskets, seals, timing belt, valve springs, rebuilding the heads, etc, etc.
When finished, we drove it a few miles and we had smoke blowing again, and the oil level got noticeably low.
We basically did it all over again, thinking the heads or valve job was not properly done.
And again when all done, after driving a few blocks, same problem, smoke and oil consumption.
I don't remember how we decided to do it, but we disconnected the hose from the PCV valve and the smoke and oil consumption problem were solved. So we replaced the PCV valve with a new one, same problem. the moment we reconnect the hose to the PCV valve the car starts blowing smoke.
The engine is not burning oil as the oil level is fine after driving it for a couple of months now.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
The guy just did a s*** job rebuilding the engine.
Somwhere between the intake manifold vacuum takeoff and the valve cover is a blockage of some kind.
