I have an 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with 97000 miles. I’m getting a p1406 code that says PDFE downstream hose off. I’m pretty sure it needs replacing. In all of the videos I’ve watched, and everything I’ve read, it says the PDFE is on the firewall. I have looked for 2 days to no avail. I cant find anything that looks like it anywhere. My question is, is it possible that it is integrated with the EGR valve? On one of parts sites I was on they showed a flat box with an electrical connector. I see what looks like the same piece on the EGR but, need to make sure.

The pdfe sensor is mounted on the top of the egr valve. If it goes bad you just have to replace the whole thing. None of the pros seem to know this and I think it is just on 2004 models.
When looking at engine from front of car. I thinks its to the left of the power steering reservoir or that general location.
