I have a 21 Mustang GT Premium Special Order build completed Nov. of 21. 10 speed auto trans. From day 1 I have issue with front brake lockup at speeds under 10 mph. Dealership found no problems and no codes over 3 visits in 3 years. Car has 14,500 apx miles and still locks up under 10 mph is more than 1/2 inch of peddle is used. Also have had 2 or 3 cases of brake peddle not depressing on first try leaving parking spot. It was solid as a rock on first depression. Unable to replicate no brake issue but I don't think it is related to brake lock up since that is an every time under 10mph issue but I wanted to mention it. At my wits end on this. Will do repair out of pocket. This is a Covid Parts Crisis built mustang that was delayed twice and then held in final assembly for over a month as was one of the last if not the last special order build before Ford cancelled the 21 special order builds. Could it be that I have mis matched brake parts somehow. I've heard they pulled every rabbit out of the hat to get builds out the door then. The Maverick electric pickup had some kind of ABS flash to fix its brake lockup at low speeds. Could I have a Maverick coded abs system?
Well Numero Uno the brakes should never lock up. That has an anti-lock brake system on it. So if they do lock up they obviously screwed up when they built the thing. It could be anything from a dragging Master cylinder to bad software in the ABS system to incorrect pads or calipers that don't match what's supposed to be in it. So they're rubbing and dragging. typical for the qualities gone down the tubes for Ford. And really of course the Ford dealers. They don't know what the heck they're doing. They're just parts changers.
