Periodic spinning sound coming from under dash

2004 Chevy avalanche 1500 5.3 automatic, 2 wheel drive, 113,000 miles

A few times I heard this spinning sound come from somewhere around the instrument cluster under dash when I would press either driver 1 or 2 on the driver door module, then I started hearing the same sound without the key in ignition nor without pushing the driver1 or 2 button just by opening the door or turning the truck off, it usually happens twice and last just a few seconds.

When I made the coalition between the driver 1 and 2 to the sound I started watching the door cover, buttons that operate it and I noticed even when there's no key in ignition there's a light flickering.

Any help with this would be much appreciate

Thanks,

C-dub

what do the "1" and "2" buttons do? I've never seen this

Are they like personal presets, for seats and stuff?

yes they are presets for 2 drivers

and is steering wheel position part of the driver preset?

No

ok then climate control temperature right?

Yeah, it's probably the climate control temperature adjusting, and it's just gotten noisier with age.

If this is the case does this mean its on its way out??

is the only remedy to replace it??

or do i just leave it alone//

and if I replace it do I have to remove the dash??

possibly. Someone would have to investigate and see.
You have to remove the lower kick panels. Probably not the whole dash.
