Opinion on performance sedan and brands

I have been looking for a while no to get a second car aside from my truck. I have been quite interested in a performance sedan. My #1 options right now is a subaru wrx bit with the ctv, I know the manual handles better and gets better gas milage. Its not that I dont know how to drive stick, but where I live there is a lot of traffic and a automatic/cvt/dct is more practical. The #2 option I am leaning towards is a elantra N or Kona N. I know I already asked before aboit hyundia and they burn oil and are not ideal in terms of long term reliability. The car I end up getting I would like to keep for minimum 3-4 years. So I wanted to know how reliable cvt and dct transmissions are as I want to get the most reliable vehicle. Would an acura integra a-spec with the cvt be a better option? Are there any other vehicles that anyone would recommend that fit the criteria?

Also, consider a Lexus IS non-turbo, alongside the Acura Integra A-Spec or the WRX. They have automatic and DCT variants.

The car design is 10 years old, but it is solidly built. Probably one of the last naturally aspirated V6, 6-speed automatics you can get.

I will keep that it mind, thanks again. Also what are the odds that scotty just released a video talking about the dct on a elantra 😂

From what I understand DCT will probably give the best performance, at the cost of potential high maintenance cost. The downside I hear is they don’t really do to well in slow conditions, they need to be going fast for it’s full potential. That is just heresay, as I’ve never really gotten to drive one for a prolonged amount of time.

The CVT will probably give the best mileage and be the smoothest in stop and go traffic.  I’ve gotten to use a CVT in a CR-V, and it wasn’t bad, it’s just different. So far so good on the CVT though. there is questionable longevity on any CVT but it seems Acura and Subaru are on the better side of CVT and Jatco/Nissan not so great.

oh ok, good to know. I guess the dct would be good for track but wasted on daily driving. I think I will lean towards a wrx or integra with the cvt, thanks for the info.
