Scotty, one video you mentioned Meguiar's Headlight Coating and another video you mentioned plexus.

My 06 honda headlights are in poor shape, never coated them.  I need to restore or replace.

Wife's 2018 grand Cherokee, I am going to start coating the plastic lights. which is better Plexus or Meguiar's.  To make it last.  Planning to keep the car hopefully 20 years.  I got the v-6, 8 speed auto (friend told me that same transmission is used in the v-8 pickups), all wheel drive model so there are no electronic shift on the fly stuff to go wrong.  I know it's a jeep and not  a toyota.

I already bought some Plexus.

Thanks, Steven

Restoring would barely last you a month. I’d just replace with aftermarket assemblies.

Very true. Those headlight restoring kits do work, but without a proper sealant it will just get cloudy again.

I find most of those polishes do little or nothing.

It is better to swap the assemblies for new ones than to try and scrub the old, yellow faded plastic clear again.

For faded headlights you want to polish first and then coat it - so it lasts longer . I have never used Plexus but since you already bought it give it a try.  I personally use one of the polish/cleaner Scotty also recommended (Meguiar’s PlastX) then follow it up with the Meguiar’s Headlight Coating.  I do this once a year on my cars.  Without the coating I found myself doing it multiple times a year - so the coating really helps!  Makes sense but prior to 2018 I wasn’t aware of the coating for headlights.  Now even if you bought an aftermarket headlight assembly you’d want to apply the coating once a year (even Scotty has to do that).
