I'm heading off to college and my dad is giving me his Pontiac g8 (Base). How reliable is this car, because I don't want to be spending lots of money trying to buy parts for it and repair it. We've already replaced the Sparkplugs, Oxygen Sensor, Motor Mounts, Compressor, Crankshaft Pully, and some minor body parts like grills. We replaced Oil and Engine Coolant.
well Pontiac is now extinct so that tells you they weren't the greatest cars but the eight cylinder ones were somewhat better baby I don't be doing donuts in The college parking lot and such and you never know
The V8's were reliable but the V6 models tend to have some issues once they hit the 100k and over mark. As Scotty said, be easy on it and it could last you awhile.
Apparently, Your father took care of the car and it seems to last for a while if you do not beat the heck out of that.
