Possible Coolant Leak in 2014 Ford Fusion

2014/Ford/Fusion 273,000 Miles, Automatic.

I've had to refill the coolant multiple times the last few months so I took it to two different Firestones and they could not find anything. Is there a chance it's something other than a leak? Also wondering if the fix is something I can manage on my own as considering the high milage I don't want to spend too much on the car if I can help it.

Thanks!

If you're losing coolant it's either leaking or burning, there are no other options. You might want to pressure-test the cooling system and/or use UV dye to look for a leak. If you can't find a leak you may have a bad head gasket or cracked cylinder head.

Avoid chain operations like Firestone and find a real mechanic if you're going to have someone else work on it.

I have a universal kit for pressure testing radiators.  If it is a leak, then you can probably locate it and replace or tighten the leaking component.  That should be reasonable to repair yourself.  Replacing a head gasket is a much more difficult (and therefore expensive) repair.  I have done it twice on simpler engines many years ago, but would not be too interested in doing one of those now.
