Hi,
I drive a 2011 Mazda 3 with the 2.5L engine and a six speed manual transmission. It has 148,000 miles and has been as reliable as can be, and I do as much of the maintenance as I can myself. The one thing I have never changed has been the power steering fluid, which in this car is ATF. My question is is it too late to change it now? I know with transmissions and some other things you are better off leaving the old fluid in there once you have gone this long. I have zero issues with the steering and the owners manual gives no interval for changing it.
Thanks!
Karl
You shouldn’t have any issue or cause concerns just while the car is running suck fluid out of the reservoir and add to as you do since the fluid is circulating. Just do that until it’s clean
I would get out the turkey baster, get the old, dirty stuff out and put in the fresh. Then you'll know it's good.
