Hey Scotty and community what type of power steering fluid does a 1998 Dodge ram 1500 uses?

Any oil is technically a hydraulic fluid. With that said you will be fine running atf+4 in the power steering. If you want to pay more for literally the same thing buy the Mopar stuff.

Yeah, you can use ATF in power steering (power steering fluid is basically ATF fluid but with different additives specifically for the power steering pump), but I would suggest getting a bottle of Power Steering Fluid instead of ATF.
