Is it OK to buy a Lexus sedan, without a Pre-purchase inspection?
It isn't recommended to buy ANY car without a pre-purchase inspection.
It is strongly recommended to have an inspection by an independent, honest mechanic BEFORE you buy the vehicle, esp. if high mileage. He needs to thoroughly inspect the vehicle (including the bottom) and hook up a fancy scan tool like Scotty’s and analyze all the data to make sure there’s no potential issues.
How/where do I find an independent, honest mechanic in Plano/Frisco, Texas? Do you know of one in the area?

Stay away from chain places. Look around your area for a repair shop that’s not a chain, call them and find out if they have scan tools and can work/diagnose later model cars. Go up there in early morning when they open, talk to them, pay attention to types of people there looking for service, dropping off cars to be worked on. If the shop is busy that’s a good sign, Ask other customers about their experiences. If you are near a military base or have any friends in the military have them ask for referrals around base.
As long as the shop you choose isn’t affiliated with a chain or dealership and knows what they’re doing you should be ok. Its worth a little money get a professional opinion. I live in Virginia and have a small setup in my car, I do mobile inspections for peeps occasionally. I’ll meet them at the carlot if they want me to. I’ve had dealerships flip when I pull my floor jack out the back of my car. 🤣 “You can’t jack up the car!” But why can’t I? Anyway I charge about 75-125 depending on the car and distance I have to drive. About an hour is furthest I go. Check around your area for someone doing the same. Good Luck!
