Does Toyota have a Million Mile Club? Would anybody be interested in my 82 pickup? My old 82 Toyota pickup has over 1,116,000. I am the original owner purchased in September 1981, I am glad I sprayed under coat 2x when new. The truck looks very good and starts right up and is a joy to drive. People are impressed to see it on the road. I get a lot of thumbs up and people wanting to buy my truck.  This third 22R engine seems at times to over heat. I have tried it without a thermostat and also rebuilt/cleaned out the metal radiator, but still over heats from time to time, even in city driving. I have purchased a back up 22R rebuilt to do a swap later this spring. Scotty, What else could it be? BTW Can my Tachometer be repaired or what can I do to get it to work again, even thou I shift by engine tone? Us Old Guys and our Toys are hard to separate as you know, when you got a winner, it becomes a keeper. Love your videos. TINO

I couldn't find a million mile club by Toyota, but you could post your success on the Tacoma and Tundra forums!

I also heard (and evidently now know) those trucks are nearly indestructable!

Congratulations on the million miles. Very cool. I'm glad you are still enjoying your truck.

As for the overheating issue, I would check for leaks in the cooling system first. You may have a hose somewhere that needs replacing or a loose clamp. It could be something really simple like that. It may even be your radiator cap needs replacing. I would look at the simple things first.

For the tachometer, you may just have a bad connection behind the gauge cluster. Those old ones are not nearly as complicated as the modern stuff so if you are comfortable taking the cluster out to check the wiring, go ahead. You may find a connection is loose or a small short that needs repair. It's worth a look if you are comfortable working on it.

Congrats on the million miles. I hope you can achieve to 2 million miles.  I'm sorry I don't know the problems for your truck. I wish I know the answer. Scotty, @Mod_Man, and others can help you.

Check any leaks to see what's need to be fixed.
