- Rather than purchase the coolant pressure tester Scotty recommend s, can I DIY drive car until engine heats up(=pressurized coolant system?)& then check for UV leak with kit?

The UV dye is great for finding out WHERE the leak is (if it is an external leak). The pressure tester will also detect if there is a cylinder head gasket problem, where the coolant is going into the cylinder or oil passages.

Can you give us more background, like symptoms please? Are you getting a puddle of coolant under the car?
