The Prius and the Corolla are built on the same platform.

The Prius and Prius Prime have better aerodynamics, so the slight edge goes to the Prius and Prius Prime for long distance travel, in terms of gas savings.

Prius vs Prius Prime is whether or not you have a place to charge it or not.  IMHO, if you are going to charge, might as well go full electric, instead of hybrid.  But hey, it could save you a few bucks to go Prime in the long run.

IMHO, it basically comes down to if you want a trunk or you want a hatchback.

hybrid of course because you never run out of juice as long as there are gas stations.

The Corolla is bigger and more expensive than the Prius isn't it?

Brand new, the Corolla Hybrid is ~$1000 less than the Prius. As far as size, I always thought they were about the same?

shows what I know

The Corolla and Prius have the same wheelbase and the Prius has 16 cubic feet (453 liters) more passenger volume. The Prius also has double the cargo space of the Corolla hybrid with the seats up, and 4 times more with the seats down.

If primarily the above is what you are intending to do with your hybrid, … skip hybrid!

Hybrids are great if you mainly do stop ‘n go and some highway driving. But if you do mainly highway driving, … say, more than 60%, regular ICE car is what will suit you best.

By choosing hybrid, … you choose it for fuel efficiency, I presume. And that’s why you electing to pay a premium for it. Yes?

The fact, however, is that the highway efficiency advantage of hybrid over an equivalent ICE car is minuscule, if any at all. And so you will not likely realize the fuel saving you are expecting. Plus, … plus hybrid is more complicated, more expensive to service car, … and probably, hybrid will depreciate a lot faster than ICE car to boot.

FWIW,

F.S.
