After watching every you tube video on the subject, I am still having problems getting the axle to snap had it fixed ,(or so I thought)recently but after a week while taking off from a light ,it made a loud bang and wasn't going anywhere it would just rev up and wouldnt roll.Took the axle back out a d the tip just past the retainer clip looke like it had been worn smooth by a grinder, all the splines worn down even with the un-splind part of the shaft. Is there a trick to lining up the splines with the opening to the trans and how do I drain the trans. to make sure metal shavings are flushed out.
My car has been down at least six months, trying to find the right parts, had plenty of the wrong parts to return Thanks for any assistance I can get DoodGuy 98 Suzuki Esteem wagon

Here's the problem. Those joint snap into the transmission using a ring and if that ring is not in the correct position on the shaft when you snap it in, it can damage even the inside of the transmission requiring that to be replaced. The stupid little rings can be hellacious things to get in and out. For example, if I pull an axle out and the ring is damaged general, I'll buy a rebuild axle and put the whole thing in rather than try to fix that little ring because it's almost impossible to get them back in correctly if they're damaged
