Problems with Camry 2010 when turning Left

Hi Scotty

My name is Phil Guyon

I live , in Canada , province Québec , with winter and tons of salt …

I have a 2010 Camry LE ( base model with 4 cyl ) , I have a problem for the past 18 months that is getting worse.

It used to be only once / month ,    but now it’s every day that I turn left while diving , the light on the dash for OPEN DOOR flashes for 3 sec and I can hear the warning sound for open DOOR for 3 seconds.

There’s no weird noises nor shaking , just the 3 seconds lights and sound for OPEN DOOR , after that when I’m putting the steering wheel in 9 o’clock / 3 o’clock position the problem goes away

When I turn right , no problem , just when I TURN Left

Should  I replace something on the car ? Is this a serious problem that will cause the car to breakdown on the road ?

What do you recommend ?

I have the car for the past 6 years ( I’m the second Owner ) when purchased it had 35 000 km ( 21 735 miles )  and now it has 130 000 km ( 80 730 miles )

Front shocks have been changed last month, front brakes Pads and Disk too

Rear Brakes pads and Disk have been changed one year Ago

Transmission Fluid been changes one year ago

Prestone has been changed 2 years ago

All the rest is original

Thank you very much Mr. Kilmer, have a great day .

I had a 63Chevy that would turn the motor off every time I turned left.  I could coast to a stop, restart motor and go until I drove around another left turn.  I drove like UPS and only made right-hand turns for awhile.  I finally found a wire that had been pinched, almost in two but not completely.  The wires inside the insulation would separate turning left because of the weight of the wire swaying.  I found the problem by, while motor was running, I gave wires a tug.  The condenser wire under the distributor cap broke, motor stopped running.  I repaired wire and became a happy driver again.

The door open comes on because of a door switch.  Trace those wires and find the problem spot.  Might be a connection that is "almost" disconnected.  Might be a wire shorting out.  Whatever!  My bet is it is some simple fix that takes time to find.

Wiggle the wiring harness where it comes out of the door and see if you can duplicate the problem. If you can, you most likely have a broken wire.
