Hi Scotty. I’ve been a tech for about 10 years and I can’t figure this thing out. It’s a 2007 P.T. Cruiser no turbo with about 120k on it. I’ve changed the thermostat and the fans work as designed. But about every few months this thing will start to overheat. I bleed the air out of the system and it’s good for another few months. Tested it for head gasket leak, no milky oil, no white smoke. What am I missing? Thanks for any help, bro. You’re the man.

Sticking thermostat? Also did you test the radiator for exhaust gasses? They make a head gasket test kit with fluid that works at the radiator cap. Costs about 20-25 bucks.
