In terms of quality, I wanted to purchase a starter off of Amazon but wanted to know is it better to get it from Autozone or Discount Autoparts?

Purchasing parts online from places like RockAuto, eBay, and lots of others has notable pros and cons.

If you know exactly what you want/need, and at what level of quality or what brand name you want, and can wait days or weeks to get it, buying online can save money, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.

But you may not be able to return or exchange the part, or get your money back.

More often than not, you can get your money back. Amazon has been pretty good. Just check if you have to pay for shipping on returns.

In 5 years I've always ordered from rockauto, I'm from Canada, and from thousands and thousands of dollars, they only screwed up once. If that can help.

Always double check because I screwed up multiple times and of course you lose $$ by sending it back. If you want to play it safe, a physical store is always better.

Never order anything drunk online, you'll end up with 1 rotor and 2 pair of front brake pads...

For things like critical car parts, I always prefer to get them at brick & mortar stores because it’s much easier to eat with them if you get sent bad car parts.

Plus, you can get the parts instantly & usually with some form of guarantee.
