So im a university student and was checking my car oils for my trip to school as i commute 1hr. I put power steering into the brake fluid reservoir, i haven't driven the car or put my foot on the brakes. I've read some pretty nasty stuff about this online but since i havent driven it I'm hoping the damage is minimal. How much is this going to cost me? What do i have to replace? If i haven't pressed the brakes is the contamination limited to the master cylinder? Also it will likely remain in my car for 4 days till i finish my exams, will be driving my parents truck to school in the meanwhile. My vehicle is a 2010 lincoln mkz.

I would turkey baster the reservoir, fill with brake fluid and bleed all four wheels immediately. Otherwise a lot of damage.

If you haven't used the brakes, then the PS fluid is still just sitting in the reservoir. Suck it out with a turkey baster or syringe and clean it out as well as you can. Refill with brake fluid and be on your way.

Focus and finish exams first. Then just flush out the system with proper fluid. Nothing should be affected.
