I am in a big quandary. When I bought my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 new I paid for and installed a performance tune kit that changed the engine computer settings. Now 16 years old and with 157,000 miles I am thinking about changing the tune back to “factory” for gas mileage and possibly engine life. Help me Scotty what do I do???!!!
You mean you paid for and had someone install the performance chip kit right?
Yes, a local Truck performance shop. It has been such an amazing vehicle I want to do what will help make it last as long as possible.
I would call them to ask (if possible) HOW to uninstall it if they can remember. They can give you some pointers and it won't hurt to ask them. More than likely its an add on device but you also need to find out the make and model of this device so that you can get install manual and then if your going to do it yourself...just work backwards instead.
