camshaft position sensor

Hello,

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, 144,000 mi, manual, non-turbo 2.4 liter four banger.

After having problems with hard starting and a check engine light in June, my scan tool showed the code for the cam position sensor.  I replaced it with a cheap amazon sensor, and this morning (25*F) it was hard starting and will not rev over 2,000 rpms (limp mode).  Do I roll the dice with another amazon sensor, or go to a Chrysler dealer?  Knowing Chrysler, I am worried I may be paying much more for the same bad quality... :eye roll:

Thanks in advance,

duramax

I would reinstall the original Cam sensor to see if would change the hard start as compared to the New Part you just installed.  What code are you getting ?
